So one way I am trying to get Healthy is to eat better. I have always been a picky eater, preferring fresh when I get it. And I have had many gardens in my life. But now that I am secure and have a LITTLE space, I am at it again. Here is the beginning of my deck garden.
So by July we should be getting a lot of veggies . . .and as I am a salad girl, I will be happy.

Well, I am to the place since the stroke that I feel I can address health issues. Yes, I have lost 100 pounds in the last five or so years. But that isn't enough. I want to regain mobility and improve my brain. So here we go.
Recently I have started taking supplements. I was taking fish oil, to that I added cayenne and garlic. I had REALLY high blood pressure when I had my stroke, and was on 4 different meds to help. But moving back to sea level helped a lot. I was down to 122/70 last doctor visit. Sans medication. Just using cayenne and garlic. Not that that PROVES cayenne works. LOL My bp could just be reasonable at 34 feet above sea level as opposed to over 6k feet.
Three days ago I started going to the pool in the morning. I could only do one lap the first two days . . . partly because the water is still damned cold. But just one lap did me in. Today I managed 2 laps. WOW I was so proud. Then I sat in the hot tub to warm up and then did 30 minutes of sun bathing. My doctor says my Vitamin D is low, and I vaguely remember from junior high school nutrition that your body makes D in response to sunlight. Plus, I am pasty white and I hate light skin, I am part Cherokee . . . when I was a kid I was so dark. Win/win.
That's all for now. The blogging thing may be slow. But I am making a lot of changes. So we will see.
